According to the Bible, all the problems and issues the world faces can be traced back to one thing – the state of a human heart consumed with self, the disease of sin. When we live like this, as if God doesn’t matter, it ruins our relationship with Him and we get

stuck in a downward spiral of living… always chasing what is best for ‘me’. We end up becoming a slave to our wants and desires. It's always been like this.

From the very beginning, people have been saying to God ‘thanks, but no thanks’ and have tried to live their own way without Him.

The result is our hearts have become sick i.e. our relationship with God has been ruined – BUT WAIT! Sin is no match for God – He has done everything needed
to fix our broken relationship with Him. Through Jesus, He has begun to heal our world and lives.

All we have to do to mend this relationship, severed by sin, is to reach out to God and recognise that His ways are better than our own. This moment is called Salvation and is where we begin our relationship with God. His love and salvation is available to everyone, regardless of our history – Romans 10:13 “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Our hope for this life and the next is centered on Jesus Christ, ––––

who is revealed in the Bible as “the way, the truth, and the life” – the only way for us to know and have a relationship with God – John 14:6. If you would like to learn more about Christianity, you can visit christianity.net.au, which has a number of useful resources for understanding Christianity.  We’re also very happy to meet with you personally; please feel free to call the church office to arrange a time to meet with one of our staff.

There is a range of Services throughout the week for different people of different ages. As you walk in you will be greeted by our friendly team, as the service begins you will hear live music (which we call worship) followed by an inspiring bible-based message.

We believe in making our big community small. The best way

to find community, get connected, grow in faith and build lifelong relationships is in and through Connect Groups.

No matter where you are in your journey of faith, everyone has a

next step. Our church is committed to seeing you fulfil the calling on your life and help you take every step toward fulfilling your potential. Whether it is starting your faith journey, growing your faith, serving on a team or leading others,

Next Steps is for you.

Petersham AOG Church is a Church with a powerful history. Our Church

is the first Assembly of God Church

in Sydney having been birthed by a group of believers who were influenced by the ministry of Smith Wigglesworth. We believe that this pioneering

spirit is at the heart of our church as

we continue to step out in new and exciting ventures.

Our core belief is to “Use our Church

to build a great people rather than using our people to build a great church.” In light of this, we are passionate about empowering, equipping and releasing our people toward effective opportunities of ministry in every sphere of life. This has also led to us planting several churches and senior pastors throughout Sydney.

Our Sunday services are driven by a commitment to worship God in ‘Spirit and truth’. Our heart is to see people encounter Jesus and be transformed by the work of His Holy Spirit through every part of our service from the singing to the preaching. We are a ‘family’ church. Our desire is to see people across all ages, from every background and life stage feel not only that they belong –––

but that they are an integral and

valued part of our church family.
